THOUGHTS: MASTERING LIFE

Why don't we put the effort into mastering life that we put into doing the things that bring us pleasure and joy? If a new interest captures our attention, we follow through on it, and if we find that it is something we really like, we pursue it further. And with that pursuit we grow from being a novice along with the growing we stride toward becoming a master of our interests.

Yes an interest is a far simpler thing than life. Life can be complicated and messy. Life is not singular; it involves the interaction of others with us. Our control over others can be deficient. Still even with this faulty control we have a say in what will and will not experience and therein lays the power within us to stride toward becoming a master, the same as it is with an interest.

If we are pursuing an interest, depending on what the interest is, certain tools may be required. The writer needs pen and paper or computer or even the now rare typewriter. Each individual needs whatever is required to move toward mastering their choice of interest.

It's the same with mastering life.

The necessary tools are required.

Since life is ongoing it is not so much that you will come to a point where we can say, "now I'm a master" it is more so, in a sense of one who would study the martial arts. In the martial arts you go through stages from novice to master and even as a master of the martial arts, there are levels. A master can hold a level 1 black belt and strive toward level 2.

Depending upon the martial art being studied tools are required whether it's the Masters body or certain implements. Using this example you can say, so it is with life and the mastering of life.

Those who acquire wealth and learn how to master the art of money, if they lost everything today they would be able to rebuild their fortunes tomorrow.

Mastering life requires tools; some were born with, some we acquire. As we move from being a child's to being an adult, depending upon what you have experienced your mastery of life is affected. Disappointments, obligations, responsibilities can stand in your way disallowing you to bring mastery toward what you would like to have/experienced. Doubts began to creep in or you put off what you felt in your heart and mind would bring you happiness.

You may have taken the road pointed out to you by family by well-meaning friends that lead you away from your dreams. And at this point you don't feel that what you want is a possibility, you're a novice who does not think that you have skills or ability, still within your heart those desires still reside. You mind wonders where do I begin, what do I need to do. I don't have the skills, I don't have the knowledge, and I don't have a plan. You are the novice at this point.

But you do have some tools, whether you believe it or not, that will move you toward becoming a master of your life. You have a mind and you have the desire within you. Those are your major tools. Everything else you can acquire. Mastery of life is not an isolated issue. Like the CEO who runs a large company successfully, you don't have to do everything yourself, you don't have to know everything to get what you want accomplished.

You have the skills and abilities as seeds with in you waiting to be nurtured so that they can grow.

No man is an island, every dream that someone has had, others have help them accomplish. Moving toward mastery of your life will come from the help of those around you.

The knowledge you need, the help that you need, to bring your dreams, you wants, to reality are waiting for you. And as you interact and learn, the same as with learning new interests, you begin to become a master at having the life that you want. And just like the millionaire who can lose every cent and rebuild his fortune again, you too will know what to do to move into the next level of mastering your life.

I stand ready with knowledge and skill waiting to help those who choose to master their life, come!
