POETRY: HERE WITH YOUR IS WHERE I BELONG

At night, all seems at peace.
All things are getting sleepy,
all things are slowing down.
It's time once again to let the body rest.
Yet lying here in bed,
it's hard for me to sleep.
I can feel the heat from your body,
I can hear the beating of your heart.
I can hear your breathing steady.
I love having you so close to me.
I can see the outline of your face
in the dimly lit room.
As I stare at your beauty
I realize how wonderful you are.
And as I watch you sleep,
I can't help but wonder, what's going on
behind your closed eyes?
What are you dreaming about
that helps you sleep so peacefully?
It makes me feel so wonderful
that you feel so safe with me
to fall asleep in my arms without a second thought.
I wonder what your dreams are
and what you hope to be
and when you are successful
I hope I'm there to see.
I wonder what a guy like me did
to deserve a young woman so special.
A woman who gives me her time so freely,
who treats me like I'm special.
I would never want to be with another.
I've lucked out getting the best there ever could be.
If ever you should stay awake long enough,
and I fall asleep fast enough
perhaps you might look at me while I'm sleeping
and wonder what I'm dreaming of
behind my closed eyes. Be assured my love
all my dreams, both awake and asleep,
only consist of you.

Come close to me
and look into my eyes;
tell me what you see.
Try to look deeper in them
and find yourself in me.

During the day or be it night
whatever I see... it's you in my sight.
I see myself in the mirror... it's you.
Thoughts are worthless thoughts
if the thougths are not... of you.

Am I myself?... (I wonder at times)
or is it you in me that shines?
Have you lost yourself... in me?
for it's only you... my eyes can see

As the sun falls;
the night awakens.
I dream of those summer nights,
when we would run away from our troubles,
scaring them away with our deep passion for one another.

I can still feel your lips upon mine,
and that deep coat of your love you once had
still warms me inside.
Those summer nights I have loved;
but now they are gone.
For we have left one another.

As the sun starts to rise,
and the snow begins to settle;
those summer nights
are gone forever.

Could I fall in love
With one, as wonderful as you?
A woman to behold,
A vision of beauty true--
An angel whose eyes sparkle
Like the brightest of stars--
A radiant smile that warms my heart
As that of a thousand suns--
One whose lips might render the tenderest kiss
To wake each dawn by your side
My very wish--
Could I fall in love with you,
Should not the question be--
Simply said, I already love you,
But could you fall in love with me?

Trapped in your eyes,
Controlled by your soul,

My turn it is to enchant you with my tale
About never ending love with such detail
That will your broken heart slowly mend
And keep you wanting for more until the end.

His name is Abraham and so I start.
He?s tall and handsome and very smart.
He loves a girl from so very far
For her love he would even steal a star.

As distance separated- their bodies apart
Their love was always strong, ever since the start.
He never imagined a love so true.
There was nothing for her he wouldn?t do.

He met her in the castle, he was a prince.
He put his eyes on her ever since.
They commenced their love with a simple, "hello,"
But didn?t see each other again after two years, though.

He tried so hard to see her once more
To get help from his friend he had to implore.
He searched and searched with great desire,
His love for her burned inside like fire.

He never gave up, I?m so amazed.
The way her love he blindly praised.
After asking for help with such a plea,
His triumph was finally a guarantee.

As he watched her moving below the moonlight,
He just wanted the chance to hold her tight.
She gazed into his eyes, so serious
She had never seen someone so mysterious.

As his hands found hers, his love for her grew.
Would they see each other again? They didn?t have a clue.
He approached her lips and planted a kiss.
It gave them chills, feelings they would reminisce.

Together they walked across the wet sands,
Building many memories, holding hands.
He knew she would part, he couldn?t pretend,
And he wanted his life with her to spend.

It was morning already, they had to part
They knew it would happen ever since the start
They felt sorrow as well as compassion.
He hugged her towards him with so much passion.

Their eyes were gloomy with fallen tears
They had to surpass their greatest fears,
And so their journey had began
They would let love flow, they had no plan.

She turned her back and day turned night.
She had disappeared, she was no where in sight.
He could still feel the smell of her skin,
It was stabbing his heart deep within.

He closed his eyes with no delay,
And said to himself, ?Come what may.?
As he laid down, he couldn?t sleep
He had fallen for her way too deep.

He tossed and turned all night long,
To her he wanted to write a song.
He sat on his bed, turned on the light.
He grabbed a paper and pen and started to write.

Morning struck and surprised him once more,
He didn?t feel like getting out of bed anymore.
He tried to sleep and hugged his pillow
It was all in vain, he tried to billow

He looked at a mirror, his face so pale
He had his goal in which he couldn?t fail.
He felt even worse as days passed by
He couldn?t forget their last good-bye.

He tried to pretend he was okay
But ended feeling a great dismay.
He couldn?t control his feelings within
He asked himself, ?What might have been??

He finally slept and dreamt she returned
It was her love he mostly yearned.
He awakened afraid all full of sweat
He couldn?t forget the day they met.

The next day he heard a knock on the door
He wanted to be able the sounds to ignore
As the knockings continued he reached out to see
His eyes were filled with such ecstasy.

It was her at the door, it really was true,
She had returned because she missed him, too.
He couldn?t believe his life she saved
The love of his life, the one he craved

He wrapped her closely into his arms
His face now glowed with such a charm.
He kissed and hugged her all through the night,
He now knew everything would be alright.

I don't like losing control of my emotions
but something about you makes me forget that I was ever in control.
You make me want to hand my heart over to you with reckless abandon.

Will you take it?
So you say.

But I know you, for I was once just like you,
and all those fancy lines you use on me
I once used them too,
and I played with the hearts of many,
Tell me, are you playing with mine?

Never have I been so consumed in my thoughts by just one woman.
How badly I want to see you.
How vividly I picture you lying next to me.
But in reality your lying next to me.

Could that be why I told myself
not to take it any farther than just one kiss.
If you were anyone else it would be less complicated.

But from the moment I saw you
I knew I wanted you,
not just for that day,
or for that hour,
but for a lifetime.

I pictured myself growing old with you,
drinking coffee and reading the paper,
sharing our fantasies,
kissing passionately morning after morning,
laughing, cuddling and making love,
from dawn to sunset,
from sunset to dawn.

I could stare into your eyes
for hours at a time without saying a word,
just letting our two souls communicate between themselves.
As they connect
my mind becomes foggy and you are my only thought.
I wonder what could I be thinking...
...you are my destiny.

I know you'll be here when I awake.
Meanwhile I lay in bed praying you won't make the same mistake.
Oh how I loved you so.
I never imagined I could love this way.
Someday you will understand why I went away.
I know you'll be here when I awake for in my mind you'll always stay.
Even though your body is gone... in my heart my love will live on.

Before I met you, life didn't seem like much,
No one to love, and no one's soft touch.
There was no love, everything was dim,
I faded away, so sad and grim.

When you first came into my life the world was so dark,
It was so desolate, no game in a park.
I reflected on the past and thought of the days,
When I knew about being hurt in so many ways.

My heart was weak, and I didn't know what to do,
But this was all... before I met you.

Looking into one's eyes
Is like gazing deep into one's soul,
And to get into one's mind
Is to reach into the depths of one's heart.
To feel one's feelings,
And acknowledge the same thoughts
Is the closest you'll ever get
To the one that you truly love.
