PERSONAL/LOVE LETTER: DEAR SOULMATE

Dear Soul Mate,

Tonight we are under the same moon. Perhaps we are both gazing out our widows, dreaming of each other. I think about you every single day. I wonder if I already know you, if my eyes have all ready looked into yours.

Do you ever dream of me? Do you ever wonder who I am; who I'll be? I hope that when you realize I am the one you have been searching for I won't disappoint you. I wan't to be everything that you have ever dreamed of and more. I never want to disappoint you, let you down, or hurt you. I have done a lot of things I am not proud of, and I have made a lot of mistakes. At times in my life I have been a person that I would never want you to even meet. I am nowhere close to perfect, and I never will be. However, I learn from every wrong turn. Everyday I try and grow so that I can be someone who will one day come close to deserving you. You must know that everything I do is for you. Everyday of work, every class, every workout, every improvement. You are the wind in my sails.

I hope you know darling that you deserve everything I can give and so much more. Don't ever believe that you deserve less than you do. Don't waste your days with anyone who doesn't respect and adore you. Don't ever replace the dreams you have of me with dreams of anyone who doesn't treat you right. You aren't with me tonight so be with someone who will keep you safe and warm. You don't spend your days with me now so be with someone who will make time for you. You are not yet my queen so be with someone who treats you like a princess; someone who opens doors and pays your way.

Tonight we are under the same moon. Perhaps you are dreaming of another, simply because you have not met me yet. Or perhaps you are gazing out someone else's window, aware of my name, but unaware of the fact that I am your soul mate. And then, maybe you know even now. The beauty is that it will be a mystery to us both until we are together and we decide that it's forever.

Yours,
Even if you are not yet mine

I asked 12 men over 60 what they miss most about their 40s and not one of them said their career, their body, or their social life — every single one described a moment so specific and so small that I had to pull over to write them down by Tommy Baker
