POETRY: OPEN YOUR EYES

You fail to realize the power of your eyes.
They keep me in a daze, I am amazed at your disguise.
I see you smile and for awhile I wish I knew you better.
A smile so loud but yet so subtle it calms my stormy weather.
My worries seem to fade as your beauty rises high above.
All things around me freeze, how I would be pleased
to feel your tender breeze of love. But as seconds
leave my life like golden grains of sand, my only demand
is for you to touch or hold my hand. To feel your touch
is almost too much for me to stand. You stabilize
my anger and give me peace when you touch my hand.
I see in you a field of flowers
and you shower me with blooms. I want to know your
deepest secret. I can't help but assume, that the light
of God is in you because you compliment a room.
Shine your light on me because I want to consume
the traits that make you so sweet and unique,
developed in the womb. I acknowledge the physical,
but I see your soul and heart, but the way it was sent,
your beauty was meant, even in age, to never part.
So smile, for in this life from you one thing I will demand:
that you will serve to calm my nerves
and to touch or hold my hand.

Embrace the design of ecstasy,
Encouraging, faultless, right with perfection.
Ponder with me the conformity of absolute association,
Covering time as if time were a mere divergence in reality,
Condemning all unconstructive proceedings,
Lusting after totality, as it is nourishment to the soul.
Follow me into a fantasy unknown to this world,
Uncompromised, for love is the main ingredient
To our harmonious accord.
Convey to me your femininity,
As I will indulge myself in its treasures,
Unlocking corridors into our potential.
As we bring forth pure, flawless, agapic sentiment,
Erotic in its nature, passionate in its orthodoxy,
Forthcoming in its benefits,
Entrust with me your thoughts, your emotions, and your secrets...
Your love.

In busy days that we're apart
I think of the moments I've spent with you
It is as if to feel again
The same feelings of being with you--
A deep sense of love I've never felt before...
so warm... so gentle...
It frees my soul from everyday frictions
And my heart explodes into a blessed,
incandescent geyser of molten joy...
And my thoughts will wander through and through
Till I find myself longing for you...

5

I am the shadow,

what you are
I become,

a traveler in the night
yet, living only in the passing
of faded light,

which ironically becomes my pain
in the day that brings the sun's burn.

I move with you,

swaying

back and forth
so enraptured in your movement
which feeds me,
leads me into the

colors of you,

I'm enticed
and I yearn to be like you,

to cast off my colorless shroud,

to stand naked in the light of your days
and absorb the prism of every tint

deep and faint,

that will pierce me with the flesh of life,

then I can finally touch you
the way lovers touch,
making you mine,

and dance through all of time
for you,
for you.

I am your shadow gray
and wherever you walk,

lonely

I will always follow.

Oh love why art thou in hiding?
For thy heart searched and longed,
and yet thy fruits yielded nothing,
but love's own actions wronged.

I searched for thee in unforgiving sea,
submitting thy heart, I threw it away,
and yet the waves yielded nothing to me;
(but the warming kiss of a loveless day.)

I searched the day and nightly sky,
looking for the brightest star;
yet love was neither far or nigh,
for such a love shown all too far.

Walking amidst autumn's veil,
I searched her colors and her eyes,
but thy search ended to no prevail,
for love must pride herself in disguise.

Mountains and streams I did explore,
and explore I did for nothing found,
but a loveless heart with none to adore,
trampled upon thy hallowed ground.

Night again I searched on whim,
hoping love would meet me there,
yet come it not, night ceased to dim,
and morn' found itself in thy tear.

Proudless and loveless I did depart,
in search for love in so wrong-a-place;
for such a search, wronged thy heart-
I should have searched thy loving face

I REACH INTO MY HEART
AND LOVE IS FOUND THERE.
THE LOVELINESS THAT CARESSES ME

IS KNOWN TO MY HEART
BY THE SOFTNESS EXHIBITED
IN YOUR FABULOUS EYES.

I REACH INTO MY HEART
AND THE MEEKNESS OF YOUR SMILE
IS THE DECOR OF MY SOUL.

BY THE EXTENSION OF MY HAND TO YOURS,
I'M REACHING WITHIN TO SURRENDER
AND LAY MY LOVE AT YOUR FEET.

I SEARCH MY MIND
AND SUCH BEAUTIFUL THOUGHTS OF OUR FRIENDSHIP
BLESS MY LIPS WITH SMILES

GENERATING EMOTIONS THAT SWEETEN
MY INWARD HAPPINESS
AT THE LOVE I HAVE FOR YOU.

WITH MY MIND'S EYE, SCRUTINIZING MY AFFECTIONS
FOR YOU, THERE I'VE DISCOVERED ONE MISSING LINK
TO THE CHAIN THAT LOCKS OUR HEARTS TOGETHER.

I REACH FORTH FOR YOUR LOVE, MY DEAREST.
I FIND BLOOD AND TEARS. I SPEAK OF MY HEART,
BUT YOU ARE NOT NEAR TO HEAR ME SAY, I LOVE YOU.

8

When I feel your touch,
it makes my body tremble.
When I smell your hair,
it makes me hunger for your passion.
When I taste your lips,
it sweeps me to our beginning,
the beginning of our fire going ablaze.
When I hear you call for me,
I know I belong and have fullness of life.
Oh but the power of your eyes.
To look into those eyes,
will take the breath from me,
stop time and hold me in eternity's arms
with just a glimpse of those eyes.

9
Crawled through the sunset
to feel its treacherous flames
rid my body
of despiration
to hear the crackle
scorching my skin
instead of the silence
jabbing at my heart

Only to find clouds
on the other side
no way out
vision unclear
flying through
without an end
no conscious thoughts
or love anymore

The rainbow fails to rescue me

The moisture of the clouds
comfort my scorched skin
of the sunset
but still covered
my sight
my love
and clouded my mind

I pray for a way
never to have
crawled through the sunset
the beauty quite rare
but pain too deep

No more clouds
kiss the shadows
in my eyes
as they weep

10

I lie here on my bed all alone,
sitting among the stars in the darkness,
feeling empty inside and drained of all emotion.
There is no way to escape the pain,
for I am trapped inside four walls with
hundreds of faces staring at me from all around,
faces with smiles and laughter
that make sadness and pain escape
from my burning, red eyes.
The reflection in the mirror shows
the beauty of the past,
when I used to feel like the faces in the frames.
Now I am no longer part of them,
I'm standing on the outside looking in
on what used to be the life I loved
and never wanted to end.

11

i love to stare at you,
mesmerized
by your eyes
it looks like a cloud.
i can easily
pick you out
in a crowd.
you are
pensive and quiet.
i?m a loud riot
waiting to happen.
i love to stare at you,
captivated by
your face,
its solemn features,
i love to trace
with my fingertip.
i would like to stay
joined at the hip
but you need your space.
i love to stare at you
as you sleep,
slumber so deep.
wearing a
perplexed smile.
i would like
to travel
a mile
or two
inside your dreams.
but i will stare at you
some more
instead
as you sleep
peacefully
in our bed...

12

Imagine you and I in an island of love
Where no one could dare come between us...
To confess our hopes, dreams and desires
To one another in sincerity of love we share

Imagine you and I holding hands all around
Walking down the street in broad daylight
With all eyes focusing on what we do or say
Strolling with gladness in our lovely hearts

Imagine you and I kissing all the time
With our sweet lips tight to one another
Holding on until our mouths become wet and wild
Breathing through our nostrils only to survive

Imagine you and I dreaming day and night
Exchanging lasting warmth through long embraces
Holding one another tight until daybreak
Until the morning light shows us the right way

Imagine you and I deep in love all our lives
In wedlock that brings good luck, peace of mind
To live together until eternity and end of time
Even beyond the terrible, scary reign of death
