POETRY: MY LOVE, CAN YOU HEAR ME

Beggars we are, when it comes to love.
We ask the Lord to send us someone from up above.

Someone to call our own, our lonely heart does need,
A special person, a friend indeed

To exchange a smile with, or an occasional word or two,
And maybe one day, to say to them, ?I love you.?

Being in love, it seems, we all do want,
Having someone to look into our eyes and say, ?you are the one.?

To be loved, strong is this feeling we need,
A warm touch, a kiss, to make us complete.

To get in return, we must be able to willingly give,
But not knowing how to trust and share, we are naive.

Steel is not what it's made of, this life-giving heart;
We curse the day when love has ended, and we fall apart.

We learn to live with the void in our soul, the hunger within,
Hoping one day love will enter in.

My love, can you hear me
softly saying your name in the night?
Can you feel the heartache I feel
without you in my arms?
Only the cool air holds me now.
Alone in the darkness, I lie and wonder.
Your fragrance and form, shadows in my mind.
Only the illumination of a fire
still burns in my heart for you.
I try to comprehend you leaving,
grasping for reasons you did not speak.
Feeling the pain when doors closed,
missing you beside me when I wake,
your angelic face almost hidden from view.
Feeling your gentle touch
reaching for me in your dreams,
the glimpse of your smile in the moonlit night.
I now find myself reaching for you...
feeling the coldness that has taken your place
and an empty place resides in me now.
My love, can you hear me?
Nothing will ever fill the void left by you,
only you!

Everyone in the world has a different song in their heart,
except the only person God laid out for them to love.
Sometimes people think they find their match
though they think their hearts may sing harmoniously and perfect
with this person when there are a few notes out of tune.
But finally God lets them find the person with the same heart's song as theirs.
God lays out a path for everyone,
To find the one with the same heart's song sung.
You go through life finding plenty
Of people's hearts songs sung.
Finally you find the path
Of that heart's song sung as yours hath.
God wills your paths to meet,
And love to come on soft whispering feet.
Like a beautiful dove flys,
Your heart's songs will soar through the skies.
I watch our love,
And thank the holy one above
For letting me find,
The only one in the world with the same heart's song sung as mine.

In the faded twilight of
a summer's day...
I saw upon your face
the shadow of a smile.
You reached for me and
I ran to your embrace...
Only to find that, yet again,
my mind played tricks on me.
You weren't there...
You hadn't been for a while...
You never would be again.

Without you
the sun seems dim...
The stars fade
into nothingness...
In all my dreams
I hold you tight.
But, in reality you drift
further and further away.
The warmth in your eyes
is replaced by emptiness.
Your smile a mere shadow
of what it used to be.
In my heart I still love you
And I always will...
But your refusal of my love
makes a mockery out of the offer of my heart.

My eyes spoke love
My mouth saw love
My ears smelled love
While my nose heard of love

no touch,
no press of any skin,
no pinch to feel pain,
no way to remember of now,

I was not given today without love
no name to identify
no heart to verify what love was
even my mind was soft in the blood of love

Repeating uneasy dreams inside with feelings, I'm confused
torn upside, right side, left side, upside down
Reverberating, reverberating, reverberating
My thoughts aloud, no thoughts allowed
no way to remember of now

In the moon glow
of earth's candle flame
A glancing smile,
a sultry whisper
"I Love you" "I Love you"
in the echoing vapors
of an ethereal
ochre light

Prisms of a rainbow's prance
dewy remembrances
and a soft repeat
"I Love you" "I Love you"
lost in the soul scape
of scattered dreams
And always, always
a whispered repeat
"I Love you" "I Love you"
in the flickering
of a moon's
dying flame

As each day flutters into the timeless current of the past.
After I've said my significant prayer for our love to last.

I often sit alone, all snuggled in my lonesome bed.
While glimpses of your beauty race through my head.

I vision your magical qualities, that I hold so dear.
I contemplate all I'd give, just to have you near.

For, if I had all the worldly things my wealth could buy.
I would give every last article, for a gaze into your eyes.

I try to gather my thoughts and think of what to say.
So that the words of my love, may flow through the day.

Simply hope you may notice my love for you.
For, through my words, you may see my love is true.

As words come and go; in and out of my mind.
I still keep searching, for the 'perfect' words I may find.

Though none of the words can describe this bliss.
None of them seem to give our love it's justice.

Then the perfect phrase is found, for the upcoming day.
It is just the simple fact, "I love you more than word can say".

There is a deep feeling that I have inside,
But it just won't come alive.

I try so hard to express what and how I feel, but
it seems as though when I do, the fear and doubt
become so real.

I've been hurt so many times that it seems like
de ja voo, because I'm trying to find the one for
me. My one and only boo.

When I finally decide to put faith and trust in
you, please don't do what has already been done
to me, because I feel like being with you is my
DESTINY.

Please understand that I need someone to hold me
to care for me as I have cared for so many.

What I feel for you is real, because it seems
as if I care for you no matter what you do.

You are special to me, like no other.
You are not just my friend, you also my lover.

Baby, I care for you with all my heart and I
Pray every night that nothing will tear us apart.

I would miss you so much if you ever went away
just make me one promise that in your heart I
will always stay.

I love you and to you I will always stay true

In my thoughts, my dreams, my happiness.
I will never be able to truly describe how I feel about you:
The way my heart flutters when someone mentions your name,
Or the way I cry when we can't be together.
I hope you know how much it means to me
to merely hear your voice,
Or to just sit and watch you.
If you could see the way your eyes sparkle when you laugh,
Or feel the happiness that surges through me when you're near.
There is only one word that can explain these feelings.
Love-
You will always be my pure and simple, honest love

I once met someone who told me to believe in a thing called destiny.
At first I was reluctant to buy into that destiny theory
but if you saw what I did when she spoke....
It was like time stood still
and all I could see was the beauty of her face.

Have you ever looked at someone and sworn
that there was a glow around him or her as if it were angelic?
Has someone ever touched you and made your whole body freeze
because of the excitement you felt run through you?

When I looked into her eyes, it was like staring into eternity
The best way to describe it...
was looking into the depths of my very own soul,
seeing a part of me I have never seen... through her eyes.
It was like being blind and all of a sudden
being given the gift of sight.

The hardest part of the whole thing was having to say good night.
All I wanted to do was grab her and never let her go
but who was I fooling.
No one can hold a star without getting burned,
No one can look at the sun for too long without going blind,
No one can hold his breath for long...
without drowning in the ocean of her eyes.

When I think about her, I don't think about her incredible beauty-
I think about the way she has touched my heart,
the way she touched my soul,
the way she convinced me to believe in destiny.
I thank her for opening my eyes.

You know you love someone when you can tell them anything you have done
Without the worries of being shunned

You know you love someone when you talk for hours,
and have deep conversations
You can do this without a second thought, or any complications

You know you love someone when it's not about the way they appear
But about the way they are so sincere

You know you love someone when you treasure
every moment you spend together
You hope it will never end, but it can't last forever

You know you love someone when you hurt when they aren?t around
But as soon as they come near that frown is instantly turned upside down

You know you love someone when you would do anything for that first kiss
That?s when you know miracles can happen, and they do exist

She swore off love
To protect her mortal soul
Thinking nothing could hurt her
If she was so bold
She had experienced tragedy before
And wallowed in the pain
Agony and angst = love
With herself to blame
Now she is untouchable
Or so she seems to think
But her whole life changes
Within the time of a blink
Then she finds that person
Who seems to set her free
From the heartaches long before
That brought her to her knees
Now trust is an issue
She must learn to face
But she embraces all his efforts
With eternal grace
Had he not come into her life
GOD knows where she'd be
The girl with all the teenage strife
Brought down to her knees...

Thought I heard your voice today from my patio outside
Emanating from a gentle dove gazing in my eyes
Its heavenly big brown eyes so wonderfully divine
I truly thought you took its form to see your valentine

I pondered how my undying passion could be proved
Living closer to the most distant stars than to your room
Battered and betrayed you see how much there is to lose
Wish I could inhale your pain and shine on you good as new

Because if you pass before me please donate your heart to me
Mine would be among the lost with no strength left to beat
Or if grim fate should call my name then please keep mine with thee
The times your golden voice rang out were when it knew true peace

So shall I mark the days till we can touch upon my wall?
Time passed without you is time not worth passing at all
Nothing but a prisoner awaiting life's curtain call
You can live in paradise and still feel your soul fall

Or shall I engrave you on a ship and we could christen thee?
Letting the lavishing waves know your heart belongs to me
And just before they capsize us in their jealousy
Dolphins will bear us above the froth of the churning sea

Instead I stole your angel wings and into the sky I flew
Left my mark upon heavens that never looked so blue
Please don't write my name into the sky, it would not do
A name's already kissed across the sky and it belongs to you
