POETRY: SKIN TO SKIN

Love comes from years of breathing
skin to skin
Tangles in each other's dreams
until each night
weaves another thread
in the same web of love and passion
And i have only passed through you
quickly like light
And you have only surrounded me
suddenly like a flame
you and i
are as different
as night and day
but you are as much a part of me
as the air i breathe
each breath i take
i am reminded
that it is you i live for
the one i love

I feel her warmth in me when she's not near me. The love that
comes from her - the joy of seeing her. Who is she? What does
she want? Is it love? Will it stay? Will it go? Tell me
so I will know...

My heart is gladdened
in your presence.
All things are possible in your eyes.
Your strength holds me solid
when I stumble,
catching me when I fall.
Wiping tears from my face
consoling the child in me
with tender words of
understanding.

Such love is rare.
The openess to be a child
risking rejection.
Knowing complete acceptance.
Basking in the warm sun
of your love....
Free.

I return to you the same.
Arms open to hold you
when the world turns you away.
When your spirit is bent
and bruised..
My love shall restore your strength.
Draw from me that which
you have given.
Take as I offer you all
that I am.
