POETRY: OF THIS MY HEART, TONIGHT EMBRACE ME

She lay with me this night;
Her long flowing mane falling
Across my chest
Like a hush clings to silence

She gave me her arms to take
And so I would yield to her
Indeed, I would have held her forever
Were it not that the night was stilled
And the stars kept pace with my heart

Then she whispered, "Of this my heart, tonight embrace me"
Maybe it was the wine and song
Or the smell of her, like myrrh and sweet spices
But crave I did her warmth- my trembling soul

How could I have known the tenderness of her kiss?
Burning as with love the flames in the depth of her eyes
For in a blink of her lash she captured my senses
From her first caress
To a breath escaped
I surrendered

I know you,
You're in my dreams late at night
You seem so real,
I'd know you by touch or by sight
You come to me,
Speaking beautiful words of love
And you touch me,
Taking me to the heavens above
Will you stay forever?
I just want you to hold me near
'Cause when I'm with you,
The whole world becomes so clear
I'm startled awake,
As the light through my window gleams
I reach for you, then realize,
You're just the man who haunts my dreams

3

Let me run my fingers
through your soft hair.
Let me hold your small
hand in mine and whisper
sweet things in your ears.

Let me enter your heart
and always there remain.
Let me promise you my
love is forever and will
never ever wane.

4

Seeking the intensity of widened horizons,
A wealth of knowledge, from which to drink deeply,
The oceanic flames of your eyes
Embrace me as I dive,
And swim in their mediteranean blue.

A source of disorientation
And revolution,
You usurp the lives of those who allow
A second of exposure,
Sinking below the realms of resistance

Her search is very plain to see
She wants to be of a trait
She wants to find out who to be
Before it is to late
She wants a real identity,
To become something great

I want to fill that crowded void
I want to give her all she needs
I want to feed that love, deployed
To grow the budding seeds
Of love before they are destroyed,
To bring them to a new degree

Her keeper gives her pressures, thick
She thinks it's her own error
Her keeper is the one that's sick
Of the pain she is the bearer
She is getting beaten with the stick
of disappointment and despair

She is afraid and so unsure
She takes it out on us
She doesn't see that I'm the cure
I'll help with love and trust
She has to know- we will endure
Her enemy is lust

I will tell her, true, just how I feel
I'll give her anything
I hope that someday I can kneel
To place a wedding ring
Someday she'll see our love is real
But for now- she feels the sting

I AM BEGGING YOU TO LISTEN, WOMAN OF MY DREAMS
TAKE THESE WORDS I WROTE FOR YOU... LET THEM SET YOU FREE:

It can sting and it can bleed
If you're afraid of the past
Open your soul to what you need
If you want it all to last
Love can starve and love can feed
So make the final cast
To search is only to impede
So make the final cast
Set your feeling for me free
Just make the final cast

There are moments
and places
that are experienced
and cherished.
There are emotions
and faces
that were known
and are now gone.
Once the end arrives,
realization
of how much it meant

hits!
and hurts!

When I can't find my way in the rain of time,
I close my eyes and again you're mine.
Embraced in your arms, your eyes lock me down,
Green and deep, a sea of passion keeps me still.
I reach for reality
and I grasp cold steel,
I am reminded of my prison
and I watch my breath disappear.
Not even in the rain of time will you be near.

8

Sometimes
I can hear the whisper of your voice
even though I never heard it

Sometimes
I feel your lips touching mine
though I never felt them

Sometimes
I can feel your arms around me
though I never felt them

Sometimes
I see you lying next to me
though you're not there

Sometimes
I reach out for you
and realize that you are a ghost
just moving through my heart
and I try to follow you
but the wind carries you away

So I drift off to sleep
and dream some more
hoping that my ghost
comes back once more

Beauty travels so much farther,
Than only a layer of skin.
I see glimpses of the person inside you,
And love you for that?s within.

Your eyes are so bright and lively,
Your smile so innocent and true.
But it?s the emotional connection between us,
That's always brought me back to you.

Whether sitting together beneath the stars,
Or talking til the wee hours of the morn...
I felt a closeness grow between us,
Something very special about to be born.

But you tell me friends is all we can be,
And my bleeding heart breaks in two.
Because now there's a void left within me,
That can only be filled by you.

Come walk with me in flowery vales,
'neath billowing clouds that float like sails
on ships, which plough the bright skylake,
leaving golden sunbeams in their wake.

Come hold my hand upon the heath,
in warm dry swirls of summer's breath,
which flutter flags and lift up kites
and cap the waves with bridesmaid's white.

Come stand with me when leaves turn bright
throughout each starlit crispy night.
Breathe moisty clouds of tender words
in love croon sounds, like roosting birds
